Glitz
Ireland's longest running weekly gay club night ever, Glitz has been the Tuesday choice for gay people and friends in the capital since 2003 bringing weekend standard clubbing to mid-week socialising. Originally held at Break For The Border for its first seven years, Glitz now takes place in the lower level nightclub of the Dandelion complex, St. Stephen's Green Centre, Dublin 2 at the top of Grafton Street. It features... several split levels and bars overlooking a large dancefloor area, DJs Fluffy & Guests providing an upbeat commercial dance set, hostesses April Showers & Victoria Secret, the Glitz gang dancers, occasional shows and event nights plus regular big U.K. & Irish pop and dance music acts. A big emphasis on fun and friendly atmosphere make it a lively, colourful and popular fixture on the weekly gay social calendar. Glitz is open every Tuesday at 11pm with bar and music until 2.45am. Admission is E5 with concession (these are available beforehand at April's Casting Couch karaoke show in The Front Lounge on Parliament Street) or valid student i.d. / E8 otherwise (slightly higher when big music acts appear).

Tuesday 14th September sees the phenomenal force that is Eurodance pop group Vengaboys fly in direct from Amsterdam for their first ever Dublin gay scene appearance and an exclusive performance of their greatest hits at the new bigger and better Glitz (at its new home in Dandelion nighclub). Since their first megahit "Up & Down" in 1998, Vengaboys have sold almost 20 million records, released five best-selling albums and gone to the top of the charts in over 20 countries with other much loved songs including "We Like To Party", "Going To Ibiza, "Boom Boom Boom Boom" and "Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine)". Following her powerhouse performance at this year's Dublin Pride post-parade party at Civic Offices, the delectable diva and Eurovision legend that is Niamh Kavanagh will perform an exclusive club p.a. at Dublin's gay scene Tuesday nighter Glitz @ Dandelion on 12th October next as part of a special night in support of our community resource centre Outhouse. Niamh will be belting out this year's Eurovision entry "It's For You", the 1993 winner "In Your Eyes", the dance anthem "I Am What I Am" (as heard at Pride) and more.
