Depending on the size/shading, yer foot can be extreeeemely painful.
My mate got a big tribal thing on her foot and was screaming the whole way through as its pretty huge (you can kinda see it on her foot here)

Otherwise, get one that means something to you, not one that you'll be sick of in a few years time.

I'm gonna be getting my second one in the next few weeks on my other wrist, still deciding though

    I want one too Deadliest_Catch,

saw a Paws one the other day, thought it was cute, kinda like this, but not really

I also love the look of star tattoos,

where's good to get them done?? (I mean in Dublin, not on your body{#Insert smilie})

Fleshy areas are less painful, but, to be fair, it's not really as painful as people say, so if you like the idea of a foot tattoo, it won't be that much worse than anywhere else. Think about whether you only want one or if you might get more later, as it generally looks best if they're all in the same style. Black work ages better than colour, but you can always touch them up as they age, so I wouldn't let that preclude colour if you liked something. Remember that they tend to spread as they age, so consider that when you're working out the design, and try not to go too intricate, or it'll just look like a smudge. Also bear in mind that if you lose or gain weight, that can distort the tattoo. In this respect, the foot is quite a good place, as it doesn't tend to fluctuate hugely with weight fluctuation. I think it's nice to have a meaning to each tattoo, but if you're happy to go for something purely for decorative reasons, that's cool too. Bear in mind that it's pretty much permanent, so only get something if you love it. There are a lot of regrettable barbed wire arm cuffs attesting to the fact that a decision made drunkenly in the early to mid-90s is hard to undo.

Can't claim to be a huge fan of tattoos myself, so maybe I should keep my beak out of this but.... Speaking of being 70, it might be wise to give some thought to how it will look when you're finally that age.

Never, under any circumstances, take a laxative and a sleeping tablet on the same night

I use Zulu for all of mine. They're really professional, and they helped me work the kinks out of my first few designs. I believe they're quite expensive, but I think they're worth it. I know a friend of mine uses Classic Ink, but her tattoos are awful. Admittedly, they're all wildly clicheed things like Chinese lettering and such, so the execution is probably fine, but I prefer to stick with where I know

id be happy to have the memories/ story if im lucky enough to live til 70 and bore my grandkids with the story. :)

As a swimmer, I see a of half naked bodies and as such, a lot of tattoos.

About one in three tattoos I see are of stars. Why people, why? I know they look pretty but I think a tattoo should be personal, and sooo many people have stars now. Even a football player this morning had three stars on his abs.

I've been considering one for ages now. Probably would never go through with it though.

so many people are just sheep, with no imagination, hense the abundance of star tatts/lotus flowers/flames. If you are getting a tatt, get something personal, get a friend with an artistic streak to draw somthin with you maybe, Dont get somthing coz everyone else has it, you will regret it.If you are in waterford id go to sammy at swineline tattoo, he is the best in the country in my opinion, he trained in florida and worked there for about twenty years before moving home and settin up shop. But if you do go in there, make sure and get sammy the other dude in there sucks, he fucked up my last tatt.

    ...come to the cabaret....
