I've seen Mamma Mia twice, but would love to see the stage versions of Les Mis and Hairspray. Was reading about the new Grand Canal Theatre this morning and it looks impressive.
Hey, I'm calling you back. Oooooh, she's been a bitch tonight!!

...and the Spice Girls new musical "Viva Forever"

I saw Mamma Mia live at the Odessey a couple of years back- the venue was too big and the actors seemed like puppets from how far back I was! Found the story pretty awful- I wouldnt bet on the Spice Girls musical being much better, especially since their music is not as fondly remembered as ABBAs is. I am ashamed to say I have never seen Les Mis but I have listened to the album for years and it has some great songs "On My Own" and "Bring him Home" being just two of my favourites. I just LOVED the film version of Hairspray- can't wait to see it live.

I'd be quite musically minded but for some reason i'm allergic to musicals as an art. Just don't get them at all and it bums me out because they're obviously a huge form of entertainment! it's the songs mainly. Never heard a subtle cathartic number from a musical ever. It's all TAADAAAAH! AND OVER THE TOP. Someday maybe. perhaps I just haven't seen the right one?

Im actually the same, i saw Wicked and that was good but Musicals leave me annoyed. But im willing to give them a go..Hairspray the movie completely irritated me right from the fat kid swingin around a pole singin her heart out at the beginning

Woohoo!! have been wanting to go see Le mis for ages, now I have an excuse. Are they all going to be in the grand canal theatre? Or will some of them be gracing the olympia and gaeity?
Happiness is like wetting your pants, everyone can see it but only you can feel uts warmth.

Yeah- they are all in the Grand Canal Theatre!
As for musical tastes- I have heard and seen a bit of Wicked and to me it looked terribley sappy American shite- I have no desire to see it live.
I dunno why I like Hairspray so much- I think the music is rather brilliant (apart from Good Morning Baltimore and Welcome to the 60s which I actually dislike for some reason).
And yeah, if you are looking for understated emotional songs musical theatre definetly isnt the place to find it! :)

Have you seen Hedwig and the Angry Inch? Might be your style.

Think the last musical I went to was Jersey Boys which was pretty cool (and good looking guys to boot!). Would love to see Les Mis.
