So with all the recalls of the new Toyota Pruis models, would this put you off ever buying a Toyota car again ?  I have always thought of Toyota as reliable cars. My dad swears by them, and always buys a new one every couple of years. Toyota have alwway prided themselves as building "the best cars in the world"

What are your thoughts ?

I think it was other car companies that made it look worse for Toyota getting one up on the jap conterpart, all it was was a sticky excelerator, and no it would not turn me off buying one if i had the money!

Wouldn't turn me off. I have a Toyota now and haven't had a single problem with it. Nobody's perfect, one mistake wouldn't turn me off completely.

I heard a bit about this some years ago (dunno which model) but when Toyota investigated the issue, it turned out all the faulty models originated from its UK plant. They inspected their work practices and while the UK guys (and gals) were meeting the quality requirement thats all they were doing, meeting the minimum requirements, their Asian counterparts were well within established measures.

So in conclusion I love lamp. /End transmission.

It's damaging for them but I'd much prefer them being open about it and making the recalls rather than sitting back and hoping for the best.
